Alvord’s roofing contractor

Alvord is rural small town, ranch and acreage property. We’re based in Haslet, TX, about as local as it gets.

Alvord is rural small town, ranch and acreage property. Metal roofing on homes, shops and barns is standard out here.

Alvord sits in Wise County, which takes the same spring hail as the rest of North Texas. Most of the roofs we replace around here aren’t worn out from age, they’re worn out from one bad afternoon in May.

We don’t charge to come out. Seth or one of the crew will get on the roof, photograph what’s up there, and tell you plainly whether you have damage worth filing on. Read about how hail damage actually works, look through jobs we have finished, or get in touch.

Free to look

We come out, get on the roof and photograph it. No charge, and no pressure if it turns out you are fine.

Claims documented

Photos with a scale reference and strike density per square. That is what an adjuster needs to see.

What North Texas weather does to a roof

Hail damages a shingle by fracturing the fiberglass mat under the granules. The bruise frequently does not leak right away, which is the trap. People assume they came through fine, the claim window closes, and two years later there is a stain on the ceiling with no coverage left to address it.

Wind is the other half. Gusts lift shingles at the seal strip and fold them back. They often lay right back down looking completely normal from the ground, but the seal is broken and the shingle now has a crease through it. Finding those takes somebody lifting tabs by hand.

Wind is the other half.

Then there is the heat. A dark roof in a Texas August runs extremely hot, and an attic without adequate ventilation cooks the shingles from underneath. Roofs here age faster than the number printed on the wrapper suggests, and poor ventilation is a quiet reason why.

How a job with us actually runs

When the work is scheduled we tarp your landscaping and the walls before a single shingle comes off. Material gets staged where it will not block you in. The tear off happens, we look at the decking with you if we find anything soft, and the new system goes on. At the end we run magnets over the yard and the driveway more than once, because nails in tires is the thing careless roofers are remembered for.

We come out and look first, and that costs nothing. Somebody gets on the roof, not just in the driveway with binoculars. We photograph what we find, including the things you cannot see from the ground, and then we sit down and go through the pictures with you.

We come out and look first, and that costs nothing.

If there is damage worth filing on, we tell you and we explain what the claim process looks like before you call anyone. If there is not, we tell you that too, and you have lost nothing but the time it took us to look.

Ventilation is half of a roof's lifespan

When we quote a roof we look at what intake and exhaust you actually have, not just what is visible from the driveway. If the ventilation is undersized we will tell you, and we will explain what correcting it costs, because putting a new roof over a bad ventilation situation just starts the clock over on the same problem.

Attic ventilation is the least discussed part of roofing and one of the most consequential. Air has to come in low at the soffits and leave high at the ridge. When that path is working, the attic stays close to outdoor temperature and the shingles above it live a normal life.

Attic ventilation is the least discussed part of roofing and one of the most consequential.

When it is not working, and it frequently is not, attic temperatures climb far above outside air in a Texas summer. That heat degrades the asphalt in the shingles from underneath, which is why roofs here often fail years before the number on the wrapper. It also drives cooling costs and, in winter, contributes to moisture problems.

What people say

From customers

We had a great experience with Seth and his team at Ovation Roofing. They were professional, honest, and very easy to work with throughout the entire process. Communication was clear, the work was done on schedule, and the quality of the roof looks fantastic. It’s refreshing to work with a company that does what they say they’ll do. I would absolutely recommend Ovation Roofing to anyone needing roofing work.

Roof replacement customer

Seth came out and checked on our roof and was super kind, quick and efficient. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with explaining exactly what we needed to do and what the process would look like. I had a lot of questions and he answered all of them and made sure I understood the process. I had another quote from a different company and this was a completely different experience.

Questions from Alvord homeowners

Do you actually work in Alvord?

Yes. Alvord is in northern Wise County, inside our normal working radius from Haslet, TX. It’s a regular service call for us, not a special trip.

How fast can you get to Alvord after a storm?

Active leaks come first. If water’s coming into the house, tell us that when you call and we’ll get you tarped while the rest gets sorted.

Do you charge to come look?

No. We’ll come out, get on the roof, take pictures and tell you what we see. If your roof has years left, that’s what we’ll tell you.

Will you help with my insurance claim?

Yes. We document the damage properly and meet your adjuster on the roof. Kolt has had denied claims reopened and approved with a proper photo set. See roof insurance claims.

What kind of roofs do you install in Alvord?

Everything from architectural shingle to standing seam metal and stone coated steel. In hail country we usually recommend a Class 4 impact rated product.
