When we quote a roof we look at what intake and exhaust you actually have, not just what is visible from the driveway. The signals that genuinely matter are these. Granules collecting heavily in the gutters, which means the shingle surface is wearing through. Shingles that are curling or cupping at the edges. Bald spots where the mat shows. Any daylight visible through the deck from inside the attic. Repeated leaks in more than one location, which usually means the roof has stopped being repairable and started being a replacement.
